Valium is a medicine coming under the group of benzodiazepine drug. Diazepam works through affecting the chemical level in the human brain, which become unbalanced or disturbed due to some reason and effects through causing anxiety.

People, who are allergic to diazepam or to any ingredient present in the medication, should not take the medication. Avoid taking the treatment if you are having prior medical issue of any severe liver disease, myasthenia gravis, breathing problem, asthma, sleep apnea, narrow-angle glaucoma, depression, mental illness or suicidal thoughts.

Drinking alcohol is restricted during the medication. This is a vital medication and should be taken in proper doses with a doctor’s prescription only. So not share the medication with other people even having the same disease symptoms. Grapefruit or grapefruit juice diet are not suggestible during the medication. It may interact with diazepam and can cause serious side effects.

It is a habit forming drug. It may have some unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant during the period of the medication. The medication may harm an unborn baby. Misuse of the drug may lead to addiction, and often death. The medication cannot be used for a less than 6 months old baby.

Do not start or stop taking Valium when you are treated for seizures. Taking the medication at the time of pregnancy may cause your baby depended on the drug, while the medication can cause life-threatening withdrawal symptoms in the baby later. Breast feeding mother should take extra care of the medication as the medicine passes through the breast milk to your baby and can cause harm.

Take Valium as instructed by your health consultant in Spain. Taking the medicine in higher or lower doses may cause harm. Measure the liquid medicine properly with a dose-measuring spoon before taking it. The medication should be taken with the advice of an authorized doctor. Selling the drug with no prescription is against the law. This is a short-term medication so taking the treatment for a period of more than 4 months is not advisable.

Be in touch with your doctor you may need regular blood tests during the medication. Keep the drug in a cool place away from heat, moisture and light. Store it in a safe place out of the reach of small children. When you are done with the medication it is best to flush rest of the unused pills down the toilet for your safety.

In some persons Valium may affect some allergic reaction signs like hives, swelling of your face and lips and sometimes difficulty breathing.

Take the emergency medical help if you experience any of the serious side effects like confusion, unusual thoughts, hallucinations,  strange behavior, unusual risk-taking behavior, no fear of danger, decreased inhibitions, thoughts of suicide, depressed mood or hurting yourself, seizures, shallow breathing, hyperactivity, aggression, agitation, hostility, tremor or loss of bladder control.

Most of the people face some usual Valium side effects which are like drowsiness, tired feeling, loss of coordination and muscle weakness.

If you missed a dose and it is the time for next scheduled dose, then skip the missed dose of the medicine. Do not take extra doses of Valium to adjust the missed dose. Addiction or abnormal drug-seeking behavior exists in this medication. Stop taking the medicine as and when instructed by your physician.

An overdose circumstance of Valium is fatal. It may create some dangerous repercussions. Seek emergency medical attention, call a doctor or take the help of Poison Help line. The overdose reaction may include extreme drowsiness, limp or weak muscles, loss of balance or coordination, or sometimes fainting.
